In the aftermath of the devastation from the tornado that hit Moore, Okla., it isn't surprising that Oklahoma's football program is already reaching out to help.

Moore is only about 10 miles from Norman. The tornado affected two members of the Sooners staff personally, as they had homes that were destroyed in the disaster, ESPN reported:

The Sooner football program is already helping as it can, and we're sure it and the other college football programs in the state will be doing much more to help the people of Moore when it becomes clear what is needed.

Oklahoma also used its Twitter feed to send out information about donating to help the victims, by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10, or going to RedCross.org. The Sooners also tweeted out a message of support from coach Bob Stoops.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Oklahoma football is already expressing its concern. Stoops runs a classy program, and it's a good bet Oklahoma and other programs will help (Oklahoma State's official Facebook page sent out links to guide people on how and where to donate, with the message, "The Cowboy Family is here to support you & lift you up during this difficult time") the same way Alabama's football program helped after tornadoes there. Stoops, who said he watched the tornado from his back window when it was about a mile away according to NewsOK.com, went to visit families from Moore who were displaced to the University of Oklahoma. One of the pictures of Stoops visiting families, which were posted to Oklahoma athletics' Facebook page, is on the top of the post and here are a couple more:

Like everyone else, our prayers go out to the people of Moore, who are dealing with an unspeakable tragedy.
