Ohio State to give its student-athletes iPad for academic support

Ohio State announced Wednesday that the school plans to give all student-athletes an iPad as part of an academic support initiative.

The school will initially distribute 500 iPad's as part of the school's Digital First program with hopes to get every student athlete a n iPad within two years. Just a guess, but I bet football players are among the first to receive a coveted iPad.

Ohio State's athletic department will fund the program, but will examine additional funding for the future.

Shockingly, Ohio State isn't the first university to provide its athletes with an iPad. The University of Colorado provides iPads for its football players and several other schools have handed out laptops as part of their academic support programs.

I'm guessing the iPad's will be heavily monitored so that they don't end up being traded in for tattoos.
