The Buckeyes, who knocked off Michigan earlier in the day, were certainly aware of the impact the Iron Bowl had on its title chances. The team watched the drama unfold on the team bus on the drive back to Columbus.
What an awesome scene.
Now, as the 12-0 Buckeyes prepare for next Saturday’s Big Ten championship game against Michigan State, the Buckeyes will likely find themselves at the No. 2 spot in the BCS Standings.
They’ll need to root just as hard for No. 21 Texas A&M to knock off No. 5 Missouri on Saturday night. A Missouri win would mean an Auburn-Missouri SEC title game. Auburn will likely be ranked No. 3 and Mizzou will likely be ranked No. 4 with a win. Whichever team wins that SEC title game will certainly make the Buckeyes sweat as they await the polls to reveal the BCS title participants (assuming OSU handles Michigan State – no easy task).
Nothing like some good ol’ BCS anarchy in its final year.
