While Ohio State was clobbering Florida A&M 76-0, the Buckeyes were doing so while honoring the daughter of an Ohio sportscaster.
Maria Tiberi, an Ohio State student, was killed in a car accident earlier in the week, so to observe her passing, the Buckeyes added memorial stickers with the initial “MT” to the back of their helmets.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Tiberi was driving south on I-270 when her car struck a tractor-trailer that was stopped in traffic. She was pronounced dead at a Columbus hospital.
Tiberi is the daughter of Dom Tiberi, an award-winning anchor, who has covered the Buckeyes since the 1980s.
