Notre Dame 350-pound DL Louis Nix III shows off his scoring ability (Video)

Notre Dame gave a sneak peek of a possible new and effective play during its spring game on Saturday.

Louis Nix III, the Irish’s 6-foot-3, 350-pound nose tackle, lined up in shotgun during a two-point conversion, directed his teammates where to line up (or at least pretended to), took the snap and then rumbled into the end zone for the conversion.

It was a sight to behold and one that even coach Brian Kelly enjoyed.

Could Nix be the new Belldozer, ala Oklahoma?

"My intentions were just to truck somebody, to be honest," Nix told The Chicago Tribune after the game. "I just wanted to run somebody over."

Even the NBC announcers were wowed by Nix’s athleticism as he crossed the goal line, tripped and rolled to the back of the end zone.

“Three hundred and 50 pounds of chocolate thunder,” one announcer exclaimed.

And Chocolate Thunder wasn’t the only nickname Nix has apparently earned.

The “Irish Chocolate” moniker came about last year when Nix was doing behind-the-scenes news broadcasts on his personal YouTube channel. Kelly also referred to Nix as Irish Chocolate while mic’d up during the broadcast.

Knowing Nix, he’ll probably be in Kelly's ear for the rest of his eligibility begging for another chance to score..
