North Carolina selling game-worn chrome helmets
If you are a fan of the crazy chrome helmets North Carolina wore against Duke Thursday night, you can now own one – but it’s going to cost you.
After the game, which the Tar Heels won 45-20 on the road, the program announced that a limited number of game-worn Carolina blue chrome helmets are for sale for a whopping $1,195. If that price wasn’t steep enough, you’ll have to pony up an extra $29.95 for shipping and handling in order to receive the helmet.
The win clinched bowl eligibility and improved the Tar Heels’ overall record to 6-5 (4-3 ACC) on the season. On top of that, the win ended rival Duke’s chance of winning the ACC Coastal division for the second straight season.
I guess that adds a bit of extra value to the helmet.
The Tar Heels will host NC State in their regular season finale next Saturday, Nov. 29 at 12:30 p.m. ET.
