NIU will wear new uniforms in the Orange Bowl (PHOTO)
When Northern Illinois steps onto the field for its first BCS Bowl appearance, it will be wearing new duds.
Adidas has outfitted the Huskies with sharp white jerseys for its Orange Bowl game against Florida State.
The TECHFIT uniforms, which are being worn by the Huskies for the first time, feature silver numbers on the front and back of the jerseys and the letter NIU in the front in red. Pants are red and the cleats are black.
According to the Adidas, the TECHFIT uniforms are 30 percent lighter than NIU’s tradition uniforms and it also keeps players cooler.
Perhaps that will give the Huskies the advantage in game where no one is giving them a chance.
