Nebraska, adidas reveal alternate Blackshirts uniforms for UCLA game

Fully embracing the Nebraska “Blackshirts” tradition, adidas has released alternate uniforms for the Cornhuskers’ September 14 game against UCLA.

As far as adidas uniforms go, these are not terrible. Last year’s edition had a giant N on the front, and let us not forget adidas is the company responsible for Zubaz basketball uniforms and these Notre Dame helmets. The helmets are a matte white and look pretty sharp, and as long as you’re cool with the stenciled jersey numbers and a one-week reduction in the amount of red sported by Lincoln's finest, there isn't a whole lot to complain about.

The Blackshirts tradition dates back to 1964, when members of the first-team defense were given black pullovers during practice. Considering UCLA is also an adidas school, I’m assuming we will be seeing something special from them for the week three match up as well.

What say you, readers? Yay or nay for the Cornhusker alternates?

(And if you’re interested in a full version of the song used in the hype video, look no further.)
