Missouri QB James Franklin has a message for his fans and haters

Missouri quarterback James Franklin hasn't had the easiest season.

He was injured, lost his starting spot and then was questioned — by many — whether he should be given that spot back. All the while, Mizzou struggled during its first season in the SEC and failed to reach a bowl game for the first time since 2004.

So, Franklin took to Instagram to thank his supporters and leave a message for his haters.

Can't blame Franklin for feeling a little slighted. He came into the season as one of the hottest quarterbacks in the country, a potential Heisman contender, and many thought he would force SEC defenses to change the way they played. Obviously, none of that came to fruition and the adoration he once felt is now gone.

Perhaps Mizzou can chalk this first season up to a learning experience and use the time it's not using to prepare for a bowl game to figure out how to be more competitive next year.
