Michigan LB Mario Ojemudia out for 2015 with Achilles injury

The injury that Michigan LB Mario Ojemudia suffered against Maryland is season-ending.

According to coach Jim Harbaugh, Ojemudia has an Achilles injury. Ojemudia is a senior, so his college career is over.

Through the first five games of the season, Ojemudia was Michigan's third-leading tackler. He'll finish the season with 19 tackles, six for loss and two sacks. He was Michigan's starting Buck LB and senior Royce Jenkins-Stone is the next man up on Michigan's depth chart.

"It's hard to replace a guy like Mario, obviously the way he plays, how he gets his job done, but the greatest thing about football, you've got somebody working just as hard, pushing right behind you trying to take your spot and makes you better," linebacker Joe Bolden told the Detroit News. "I think we'll have somebody who will get in there and get the job done."

Ojemudia had 37 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2014 through 11 games.

Michigan's defense has been one of the best in the Big Ten and the country. The team's shutout of Maryland on Saturday was the Wolverines' second-straight shutout and Michigan is an eight-point favorite at home Saturday vs. Northwestern.

The game is a matchup of the top-two scoring defenses in the country. Michigan is No. 1 and allowing seven points per game while Northwestern is close behind at 7.6 points per game. Will the first team to 13 win?
