Missouri's first fumble recovery of the season came at a fine time in its bid to upset Georgia.
Defensive end Michael Sam returned an Aaron Murray fumble for a 21 yard touchdown in the second quarter to give the Tigers a 28-10 halftime lead.
Shane Ray came off Murray's blind side and hit the quarterback as he was starting to throw and the ball went fluttering to the turf, where Sam scooped it and ran it in.
Entering the game the Missouri defense had 11 interceptions but had not picked up a fumble. On Georgia's next possession, running back Brendan Douglas fumbled and the Tigers also picked that one up.
