Antonio Crawford is headed to the Big 12.

Crawford, a cornerback who appeared in 38 games for Miami in the past three seasons, announced Sunday that he’s transferring to West Virginia.

“Just wanna thank the lord for blessing me with this amazing opportunity,” Crawford wrote on Instagram, per the Palm Beach Post. “New school, new number, same dream. Proud to say I’ll be a Mountaineer for the next 2 years. WVU is my new home!”

Crawford, who left Miami in February, took a visit to WVU over the weekend and made his decision to commit on Sunday morning.

“I knew I liked the coaches but just hanging around the players and the defensive backs coach (Brian Mitchell) was great,” Crawford told WVSports.com. “He seemed like a great guy and I liked the defensive scheme.”

Crawford, a rising senior, will sit out the 2015 season due to the NCAA’s transfer rules before playing his final season for West Virginia in 2016. He played mainly nickel back for the Hurricanes and registered 58 tackles and one interception.

Crawford said he received interest from Arizona, Indiana, Houston, USF and others before visiting and choosing WVU, where he’ll report in June.
