“He’s no longer with us, I don’t know what his plans are,” Bonnette told the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Garrett played in just three games for the Tigers as a true freshman and did not register a tackle. Per the Times-Picayune, Garrett was “slow to recover” from a January 2014 surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Garrett was a Rivals four-star recruit who was rated as the top player in Illinois and the 60th-best prospect in the country in 2014.
