Louisville signee arrested for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old cousin

Sharieff Rhaheed-Muhammad, a recent Louisville signee from Fort Pierce, Florida, was arrested on Monday and charged with felony lewd lascivious behavior. Rhaheed-Muhammad, 17, was accused of fathering a child with his 14-year-old cousin, who later had an abortion.

The girl’s mother told police that she confronted her daughter “after seeing her daughter act strangely.” The girl then began crying and said she had sex with Rhaheed-Muhammad but that he “did not force himself on her and that it just happened.” He later tried again and she turned him away, the police report said.

After confronting her, the girl’s mother reportedly gave her a pregnancy test in October and the test came back positive. Police began investigating the case after that, and the pregnancy was aborted in November. Rhaheed-Muhammad and his mother refused to provide a DNA sample, but a police warrant at the school in November allowed for police to take a swab of his DNA, CBS12 reports.

According to CBS12, a genetic testing of the remains showed on Feb. 11 that there was nearly a 100 percent chance that Rhaheed-Muhammad was the father.

The girl also said that Rhaheed-Muhammad began touching her inappropriately when she was 11-years-old.

Rhaheed-Muhammad, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound Rivals three-star prospect at outside linebacker, signed with Louisville on February 5, choosing the Cardinals over Michigan State, Arkansas, and Missouri.

Louisville released a statement to WPTV that said, “Coach Bobby Petrino is aware of the situation.”

Rhaheed-Muhammad was released from a juvenile detention center on Tuesday.
