Football coaches can be perceived as no-nonsense tough guys a lot of the time, but many coaches have a sense of humor too.

We showed you the April Fools Day joke that Washington coach Chris Petersen pulled off Tuesday morning, but Lincoln University head coach Ramon Flanigan definitely pulled off an even better prank.

The players at the D-II school about 50 miles southwest of Philadelphia were lining up for the circle drill during practice on Tuesday, when music started playing and Flanigan emerged from the press box in full pads and uniform.

The video is a little shaky, but you can hear the players laughing as Flanigan enters the playing field and approaches his team. He calls a few players into the circle and it looks like some serious hitting is about to happen, but then, of course, Flanigan takes his helmet off and calls out “April Fools!”

Well played, coach.
