It was just a year ago that quarterback Johnny Manziel was just a regular guy.
He was the fairly anonymous quarterback of a Texas A&M squad that hadn’t done anything and most of all, he was just a nice guy (a quality many reporters would note later in the year when Manziel was finally allowed to speak with the media).
At some point – after the Heisman Trophy and the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals and an NCAA investigation – that version of Johnny Manziel dissolved into an unlikeable and polarizing figure.
But for a short time prior to Saturday’s game against Sam Houston State, Manziel remembered that nice guy and for a little kid, Manziel will always be his hero because of it.
No matter your opinion of Manziel – and we all have one – this is a pretty cool moment.
