Johnny Manziel is the hero America deserves, according to Texas Monthly

Johnny Football as a superhero? Sure, why not? That'll keep his ego in check.

This is the cover of the September issue of Texas Monthly, featuring yet another monstrous profile of Johnny Manziel. (The guy is going to inspire his own anthology of sports journalism before long.) The story itself goes online later this week; here's the cover.

"Manziel is not the paragon of idealistic virtue represented by the original DC Comics Superman," the magazine's Jake Silverstein writes. "That character, with his Boy Scout morality and regal bearing, belonged to a simpler era. Johnny Football is something far more interesting: the brilliant but catastrophic superhero our decadent world deserves."

This makes perfect sense: the only logical next move is for Manziel to join the cast of Avengers 2.
