Jimbo Fisher throws out first pitch to Jameis Winston at Rays game (Video)

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher made the trip south from Tallahassee to Tampa to throw out the first pitch at Sunday’s Tampa Bay Rays game. And to complete the Florida State battery, former Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston served as Fisher’s catcher.

Fisher’s pitch was a little low, but Winston, who also played baseball at FSU, helped his former coach out and framed it in the strike zone.

Winston was the first overall pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft, so his baseball playing days are over. His first training camp with the Bucs begins later this week.

Meanwhile at FSU, Fisher will oversee the competition to replace Winston in preseason camp – a competition that will likely come down to redshirt junior Sean Maguire and Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson.
