As teams in the AP top 10 began to fall this week, so did their Heisman contenders.
Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater, who needed to win every game with his soft schedule, was the first to drop out after an upset loss to Central Florida. Clemson’s Tajh Boyd followed suit. Other potential candidates – Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and South Carolina running back Mike Davis – also suffered upset losses and found themselves on the outside of Heisman Watch looking in.
[Photos: Top college football images from Week 8]But their failures mean opportunities for other deserving players, who had been close to cracking the Heisman Watch in the past and now have their opportunity.
