The drama surrounding Oklahoma State quarterback Daxx Garman and a potential transfer will reach a hilt on Monday.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy told Fox Sports Southwest that he has given the quarterback a deadline so the team can move on one way or the other.

"He's got some decisions to make," Gundy told the website Friday. "He could very well be with us or he could decide, 'Hey, I want an opportunity to go and be the main guy at another school,' so we just kind of have to play it by ear and see how it works."

Garman, who started eight games in 2014 after J.W. Walsh suffered a season-ending foot injury on Sept. 6, suffered a head injury against Texas on Nov. 15. That opened the door for true freshman Mason Rudolph, who started three games and led the Cowboys to their first road win against Oklahoma since 2001. Rudolph also led Oklahoma State to a win against Washington in Cactus Bowl, which caused Gundy to declare him the starter heading into the spring.

Before his injury, Garman, who will be a senior in 2015, completed 152-of-277 passes for 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Garman already transferred from Arizona to Oklahoma State in 2012, but he’s set to graduate in May, which would make him immediately eligible at an FBS program.

Currently, Oklahoma State has Rudolph, Walsh and four-star early enrollee John Kolar participating in spring drills, but that doesn’t mean Garman wouldn’t have an opportunity to earn his starting role back.

"I want him to do whatever he thinks is best for himself,” Gundy told the website. “Selfishly, we would love for Daxx to be here, but he could decide he wants to go somewhere else and I don't think it would surprise anybody.”
