A lot has been made of the hand-drawn portraits that Georgia has been sending to recruits. Some recruits seemed to really like it, but at least one recruit was not a fan.

Four-star defensive end Lorenzo Carter, a Georgia signee, spoke with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and said that the picture Georgia sent to him was one of the more creative things he saw in the recruiting process.

“That was pretty cool. I liked that a lot,” he said.

He noted that Georgia also sent a portrait to the state’s top player, five-star linebacker Raekwon McMillan. Unlike Carter, McMillan apparently was not very flattered by his portrait.

“I looked good in (the portrait), compared to how I look in real life. Raekwon’s picture didn’t look good. He didn’t like it. That’s probably why he didn’t come to UGA,” Carter said.

McMillan ultimately signed with Ohio State.

Carter also told the AJC that talking with LSU head coach Les Miles about girls was one of his funniest recruiting stories.

“Girl talk with Les Miles was kind of awkward because you don’t think of him as a ladies man. But he seems like he knows what he’s talking about,” Carter said.

What was Miles’ advice?

“’Don’t be rude when they call late at night.’”

That’s some pretty solid advice from Miles, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to get Carter to Baton Rouge. I guess Mark Richt is a little smoother with the ladies than Les.
