D'haquille "Duke" Williams, who was dismissed from the Auburn football program Monday, reportedly punched two security guards, a bartender and another patron, according to AL.com, in the event that resulted in his dismissal.

Williams, a wide receiver who had been in trouble several times during his Auburn career, apparently became angry when a member of his party was removed from the bar for wearing sunglasses, a violation of the bar’s dress code.

Williams tried to use his status as a football player to get the person back into the bar, but was denied. An altercation broke out and police were called to the scene, according to AL.com.

"When individuals fail to meet the expectations of our program, there has to be consequences," Malzahn said in a statement Monday night. "I gave D’haquille the chance to prove himself. I am disappointed that it did not work out."

Williams, a senior, had 12 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown this season. He was one of the team’s top offensive threats in 2014 with 45 catches for 730 yards and five touchdowns.

However, his off-field issues have marred his success on the field. He was suspended for last year’s Outback Bowl for breaking team rules. He also suspended for a week of preseason practice for a disciplinary issue.
