Footage from Nick Saban's high school football career unearthed (Video)

Been longing to see Alabama coach Nick Saban play football as a high school senior? Here's your chance.

TideSports.com found video of Saban's highlights from his final year at Monongah High School in West Virginia. Saban was a quarterback and safety in high school.

Saban was a shifty QB, but it was out of necessity. His protection breaks down in some of those highlights. Maybe it's why he's put such an emphasis on offensive line play in his coaching career? He doesn't want his quarterbacks to run for their lives like he had to on a regular basis in high school.

He was a pretty good gunner on the kickoff team too. A true renaissance football player. You're not going to see too many quarterbacks covering kicks these days.

Tide Sports also went back to Saban's hometown to visit the field he played on, which is now named for his late father. Growing up, Saban became known as "Brother" to many in Marion County, W.V.
