Florida WR Andre Debose uninjured after allegedly being pushed into a window in dispute

Florida WR Andre Debose was allegedly pushed through a window during a dispute Saturday evening, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Debose was in a dispute with Victor Watkins when, according to the GPD, John Honeycutt went and retrieved a handgun and threatened Watkins after Watkins threw Debose into a window. Debose was uninjured. The three were eating dinner with a woman when the dispute occurred.

Then, according to GPD, Watkins took the gun from Honeycutt and shot several rounds into the ground. After that happened, Honeycutt got a rifle and fired several shots through Watkins' SUV, which was parked outside the residence where the dispute happened. (Click here to view the police report.)

Honeycutt was arrested for aggravated assault.

Debose was recently granted a sixth year of eligibility after he tore his ACL before the 2013 season and missed the entire year. In 2012, he played in nine games and returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.

In 2011, Debose was the team's leading receiver with 432 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Initial reports said Debose was the aggressor in the altercation. The spokesperson for the Gainesville PD issued a statement and apologized for the confusion. The apology said that Debose was trying to break up the confrontation that escalated.

"To Mr. Debose: I apologize that my error put your name and reputation in jeopardy, no matter how briefly," the statement said. "I take full responsibility for this error, and hope that the stories printed and published will correct your name and reputation.  Furthermore, I am extremely proud that you intervened in this incident and likely prevented anyone from being injured or killed."
