National signing day is just six days away, and several of the nation’s top recruits have yet to announce their decisions of where they’ll play at the next level. One of those players is Malachi Dupre, a five-star wide receiver from River Ridge, La.
Dupre ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 15 overall prospect in the country by Rivals, and he has narrowed down his list of schools to five. One of the schools still in the running is Alabama, and head coach Nick Saban and new offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin visited Dupre Thursday.
That visit gave us this gem of a photo:
There’s a lot of awkwardness going on here. First of all, the look on Lane Kiffin’s face is creeping me out. Secondly, Lane’s coat is way too long. He needs to upgrade his wardrobe. Thirdly, shouldn’t Dupre be in school right now? He tweeted that Saban was “at the crib” at 11:01 E.T. He might be missing math class!
Beyond that, after retweeting the photo of himself with Saban and Kiffin, about an hour later, Dupre announced that he will announce his school decision on national signing day (Feb. 5) and that his top five schools are UCLA, Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU and Florida State.
Could Saban and Kiffin’s visit have sealed the deal one way or another for Dupre? According to Rivals, he’ll take his final official visit to UCLA this weekend. After that, it’s just a waiting game until signing day.
