At a fan event, Johnny Manziel high-fived a crying girl who said she loved him

Texas A&M held its annual "Meet the Aggies" preseason autograph event over the weekend and in a not-so-stunning turn of events, the Aggie with the biggest crowd around him was Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

There were so many people who wanted to see Manziel that according to the San Antonio Express-News, he was told to stay seated throughout the entire session so that the line could keep moving. In that line was a girl who was such a big Manziel fan that she started crying when it was her turn.

From the Express-News:

“One girl (about 12) started crying and told him she loved him,” Slaton said.

What was Manziel's response?

“He just gave her a high-five,” Slaton said, shrugging.

Well played, Johnny. Given the adulation that Aggie fans have for Manziel, this probably wasn't the first time he's been approached by a crying fan. While the high-five can be an awkward move, especially when executed improperly, in this case it seems entirely appropriate.

Yes, you may also chuckle at the event itself, which saw Manziel sign approximately 500 autographs (for free) to fans in attendance. The quarterback is currently being investigated by the NCAA because of allegations that he received money in exchange for autographing memorabilia.

Despite the investigation, all signs point to Manziel starting on Saturday when A&M takes on Rice. Last week, Texas A&M chancellor John Sharp staunchly defended Manziel, proclaiming his innocence in the matter.
