Seems like everyone is changing their uniforms these days, so why shouldn't Duke get in on the fad? After all, that's a surefire way to get something positive written about the Blue Devils because everyone knows nothing sells like a uniform change.
So, embracing that, Duke announced the addition of a matte helmet to its uniform collection.
Duke has gone all-black with a black Duke "D" on the side. My guess is that we'll be seeing Duke's all-black uniforms again this season. The last time Duke wore black uniforms, however (and Duke folks feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), was in a 23-21 loss to FCS opponent Richmond in the season opener last year. The Blue Devils wore white helmets with those uniforms, perhaps the black helmets will bring more luck for a team that hasn't had a winning season since 1994.
