LSU confirmed Monday that defensive tackle Maquedius Bain has left the program after the sophomore tweeted Monday that he was no longer with the Tigers.

Bain was one of the three players reinstated to the team last week after authorities dropped charges against them for unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling. Bain, quarterback Anthony Jennings and defensive back Dwayne Thomas had been suspended since mid-June, but Friday the East Baton Rouge District Attorney decided not to pursue charges after the alleged victim asked charges be dropped.

All three players were welcomed back to the team Friday afternoon.

Bain appeared in 10 games last season and had six tackles and one pass breakup. He was expected to play a bigger role this fall.

Bain is the third defensive tackle to leave the Tigers this offseason. Trey Lealaimatafao was dismissed and Travonte Valentine enrolled in a junior college. The departures leave LSU with just five scholarship tackles.
