Welcome to Dr. Saturday's College Football Madness. Ever wondered how the 2013 college football season could have turned out with a 68-team playoff? You've come to the right spot. While 68 teams participate in the NCAA tournament, we're running an expanded college football playoff. And you're in charge. Each matchup is open to a vote and the team with the most votes in each game moves on to the next round. We're on to the second round in Region 1.
We had just one upset in the first round of region one, but it was a doozy, at least in terms of margin of victory. No. 10 seed Utah State beat No. 7 Notre Dame with 94 percent of the vote. We know that there can be some dislike for Notre Dame based off of the national attention that the Fighting Irish get, but that's a stunner. Who knew that Chuckie Keeton was so popular?
Everything else held chalk. Vote for the winner of the four matchups below through 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 26. The winners move on to the Sweet 16. Click here for the original bracket.
No. 1 Florida State vs. No. 8 Texas
Is this Mack Brown's last game? Does Texas have enough offense to hang with the Seminoles?
No. 4 LSU vs. No. 5 UCLA
The most intriguing matchup of the region, and maybe the entire second round. Can this be a real game right now?
No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 6 Duke
Which Oregon is going to show up? The Oregon that lost to Arizona or the Oregon that demolished Texas?
No. 2 Missouri vs. No. 10 Utah State
Missouri should have too much offense and defense for the Aggies. Was the first round an aberration?
