Dorial Green-Beckham denied waiver to play at Oklahoma in 2014

The NCAA has denied Oklahoma's request that former Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham be eligible to play in 2014.

Oklahoma released a statement Friday evening saying the school would accept the NCAA's ruling.

The statement reads "The University of Oklahoma has learned that the waiver request in entered on behalf of Dorial Green-Beckham has been denied by the NCAA. The University accepts that decision and will continue to provide the appropriate assistance to Dorial, just as it does with other students, in helping him grow personally from the many opportunities available to him at OU."

The school was applying for immediate eligibility for Green-Beckham via the NCAA's "run-off" waiver for players who part ways with their previous university for reasons out of their control. Green-Beckham was dismissed in April after an incident in which he allegedly forced his way into an apartment and pushed a female down some steps.

He was not charged in the incident as the female said she was unwilling to press charges due to possible backlash. Earlier Friday, Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said he had "other information" that led to the school dismissing Green-Beckham.

The former five-star and No. 1 recruit in the nation according to Rivals played two seasons at Missouri. He was arrested for marijuana usage in 2012 and pled guilty to trespassing in a plea deal. He was involved in a traffic stop where marijuana was found in January but was not charged.

Green-Beckham will be eligible for the 2015 NFL draft and will have the opportunity to declare or play at Oklahoma next season.
