David Sills set to transfer from West Virginia
West Virginia quarterback/wide receiver David Sills is transferring.
West Virginia issued a statement about Sills' departure Thursday morning.
"We appreciate everything David has done for the Mountaineer football program," WVU coach Dana Holgorsen said in a statement. "He has done everything asked of him and has been a great teammate. He has decided to transfer to pursue his dream of playing quarterback in college. We wish him nothing but the best in all of his future endeavors on and off the field.”
Per DKSports.com, Sills will be transferring to El Camino Junior College in California.
You may remember Sills as the middle school quarterback who got a scholarship offer from then-USC coach and current Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin in 2010. Sills never went to USC, instead choosing the Mountaineers, a school much closer to his Maryland home.
Sills saw playing time in 2015, but it wasn't at quarterback. Rather he played at wide receiver as Skylar Howard was the team's starting quarterback. With Howard returning in 2016, Sills wasn't in line to get any playing time barring an injury.

He might not have gotten any at quarterback in 2017 or beyond, either. The Mountaineers now have former Florida quarterback Will Grier, who transferred to the school following his suspension for a banned substance at Florida. Grier is sitting out the 2016 season and eligible to return in 2017.
Sills was a four-star recruit and the No. 15 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2015, according to Rivals. He had seven catches for 131 yards and two scores in 2015.
