Butch Jones starts a NASCAR race in Tennessee (VIDEO)

One of the perks of being a head football coach is getting to do things we laymen folks would never get to do. Like throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game, or participating in a celebrity all-star game or, in the case of Tennessee coach Butch Jones, starting a NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

"From the orange & white checkerboards at the University of Tennessee to the black and white checkered flag at Bristol, drivers start your engines!" Jones shouted.

Prior to Butch Jones’ start declaration, the race announcer gave Jones an interesting choice of what to say: “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome head football coach of the University of Tennessee Butch Jones as he delivers the words we’ve all been waiting to hear…”

"Tennessee is going to be a contender this year!"

"We've found a star quarterback and two new star receivers!"

"I've bottled the essence of the 1998 national championship team and plan to use it this year!"

Unfortunately for Tennessee fans, it was none of those things. He just started the race.

Regardless, it was a very cool moment for Jones.
