Braxton Miller more talented than Tim Tebow? Urban Meyer says so

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is off to a good start as a sophomore -- such a good start that Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer gave him some of the highest praise he could give.

He said Miller is more talented than Tim Tebow.

According to Fear the Hat -- the blog of Lori Schmidt, a sports reporter with 97.1 The Fan -- during Meyer's call-in show with the station he was asked to compare Tebow, the greatest player during Meyer's time at Florida, to Miller.

"Very similar guys," Meyer said. "They're both competitive human beings. They're both very talented people. Braxton has more talent. Tim is probably more of a grinder."

Hold on to your seats, because it's safe to assume the "Braxton has more talent," comment is going to get plenty of attention in the next day or so.

It's impossible to believe Meyer thinks Miller is already a better player than Tebow, a three-time Heisman Trophy finalist and the 2007 trophy winner. And Meyer and Tebow had a very close player-coach relationship that has been well documented. But does Miller have more natural talent? Possibly. Miller has the ability to make defenders look really bad, but Tebow's athleticism is pretty ridiculous as well.

Here's more fuel for the conversation: Chris Huston, who is @HeismanPundit on Twitter and writes for CBSSports.com, pointed out that Tebow had 1,037 rushing and passing yards with 13 touchdowns through three games as a sophomore in 2007, and Miller has a comparable 988 rushing and passing yards with 12 touchdowns through three games of his sophomore year.

Still, it's probably wise for all of us, especially Meyer, to pump the brakes a bit before we start comparing Miller to one of the greatest players in college football history.
