Boise State runs Statue of Liberty play to perfection (GIF)

Boise State brought out memories of the 2007 Fiesta Bowl against Wyoming Saturday night.

Already leading 21-7 late in the second quarter, Boise head coach Bryan Harsin reached into his bag of tricks and pulled out the ol’ Statue of Liberty play.

Quarterback Grant Hedrick faked a quick pass to the right side and put the ball behind his back with his left hand. At that point, running back Jay Ajayi grabbed the ball and rumbled downfield for a 20-yard score before the Cowboys’ defense had a chance to figure out what happened.

The highlight reel play gave the Broncos a 28-7 lead going into halftime and they went on to win 63-14.

At 9-2 and 6-1 in Mountain West play, the Boise State win over Wyoming created a three-way tie in the Mountain division with Colorado State and Utah State.
