Big Ten Network to give behind-the-scenes look at Ohio State's fall camp

Ohio State is getting its own version of “Hard Knocks.”

The Big Ten Network announced Friday that it would follow the defending national champions through part of their August training camp in a series called "Scarlet and Gray Days: Inside Ohio State Training Camp."

The Big Ten Network touts the show as a behind-the-scenes look at “one of the nation’s premier programs” as it “marches toward Week 1 at the forefront of the college football conversation.” The show will give an inside look at the much-anticipated quarterback competition between J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones as well as chronicling Braxton Miller’s recovering from a season-ending shoulder injury and his possible conversion to wide receiver.

The show will have three or four episodes leading into the season opener against Virginia Tech, but Big Ten Network president Mark Silverman said it wouldn’t be exactly like the critically acclaimed HBO NFL behind-the-scenes show “Hard Knocks.”

"We're not quite certain how similar it will be to a 'Hard Knocks,'" Silverman said Friday at Big Ten Media Days in Chicago. "I don't anticipate having the degree of being in as many meetings rooms, but I think it will be an unprecedented look at what goes on as a team prepares for its first game."
