Baylor shows off new helmets for the 2013 season

The 2012 season isn’t even cold yet and Baylor is already getting a jump on its uniforms for 2013.

Jeff Lebby, running backs coach for the Bears, tweeted out a couple pictures of Baylor’s new helmets, which include a gold chrome dome and a black matte. Both are pretty sharp.

On the gold helmet, the stripe that was used on previous gold helmets is gone and the interlocking “BU” is now black instead of green. The black mate helmet has a “BU” decal that is traditional gold and green.

Baylor has become more attractive to recruits ever since Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy there a couple years ago. So, the best way to keep recruits is to continually wow them with fancy uniforms and various combinations (not to mention a fun offense). My guess is that the helmets are just the tip of the iceberg and some new uniforms are likely on the horizon.
