The highest-rated recruit in Arkansas’ 2015 freshman class was arrested Friday.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, tight end C.J. O’Grady was arrested early Friday morning for driving his motor scooter while intoxicated. The arrest report states that O’Grady was pulled over at 1:33 a.m. just north of campus because the scooter did not have a working taillight.

The arresting officer said in the report that O’Grady had “watery, bloodshot eyes, was slurring his words and smelled of alcohol.” After being taken into custody, O’Grady “registered a blood alcohol level of .099” at 2:47 a.m.

In addition to the DWI charge, O’Grady was hit with a minor in possession of alcohol charge and was cited for the improper taillight and not having proof of insurance.

O’Grady, who was released on bond before noon, has a hearing in Fayetteville District Court scheduled for Monday.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound O’Grady was rated as a four-star recruit and the No. 90 overall prospect in the country by Rivals.com. O’Grady was also rated as the top player in Arkansas and the second-best tight end in the entire 2015 recruiting class.

Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema said Thursday that O’Grady was likely to redshirt this season.

O’Grady is the second Arkansas player to be arrested for DWI this offseason. Redshirt sophomore defensive end Tevin Beanum was charged in February.
