Arizona wide receiver Trey Griffey is picking up right where he left off in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl.
Griffey, the son of baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr., capped off his redshirt freshman season at Arizona with two touchdown receptions in a dominating 42-19 bowl win over Boston College with his father watching from the sideline.
Fast forward four months later and Griffey was in the starting lineup in Saturday’s spring game and pulled in a highlight reel one-handed catch while falling and reaching around a defender.
After not recording any statistics in the first nine games of the season, Griffey made an impact in the final four games of the 2013 campaign, totaling 14 catches for 170 yards and those two touchdowns.
Griffey, who was a three-star recruit in the class of 2012, should see an increased role with the Wildcats in the upcoming season.
