Alabama’s equipment Twitter feed mocks LSU following the Super Bowl

We don’t usually do a Tweet of the Day, but this one from the Alabama Equipment folks was especially entertaining.

“@UofAEquipment: Glad to see the Superdome could finally use that purple and gold confetti from last year.......”

The tweet of course refers to the 2012 BCS National Championship in New Orleans where Alabama defeated LSU to win its first of two consecutive national titles. Obviously, LSU’s colors are purple and gold, similar to the confetti colors that were used at the Superdome after the Baltimore Ravens, who have similar colors, won the Super Bowl.

Chances are it could be the same confetti and an astute comment from Alabama Equipment folks.

Unfortunately, the tweet was deleted, but not before several people RTed it.

Sure, it’s in bad taste, but hey, what’s wrong with a little competitive ribbing? LSU can always point to that Sports Illustrated article, which linked some of those same 2012 national champions to an NCAA banned substance.
