AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb announce their engagement on Twitter (Photo)

College football’s favorite couple is ready to tie the knot.

Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and his model and former Miss Alabama girlfriend Katherine Webb announced their engagement on Twitter Friday night with a photo of the two embracing while Webb wore a fancy engagement ring, which McCarron apparently designed himself.

Their relationship gained national attention during the 2013 National Championship game when ESPN’s Brent Musburger seemed particularly infatuated with Webb whenever the cameras would focus in on her during Alabama’s dominant win over Notre Dame.

McCarron has since graduated and is training for the NFL, where he is projected to be a mid-round pick in May’s draft.
