Twitter becomes conduit for congratulations to Wichita State for superb season
Wichita State led by 12 points in the second half Saturday but ultimately succumbed to a Louisville rally and fell 72-68 in a national semifinal game ending a storybook run through the NCAA tournament.
The ninth-seeded Shockers were trying to become the lowest seeded team in tournament history to advance to the national title game. That distinction will remain with 1985 Villanova (No. 8 seed) for at least another year.
When the Shockers' season ended, plenty of Wichita State fans, alumni and others around college sports sent messages of congratulations for a stellar season. Here is a small sampling.
