A Seton Hall fan douses himself in Gatorade to celebrate Isaiah Whitehead’s commitment

Before highly touted combo guard Isaiah Whitehead announced his college decision on Thursday afternoon, Seton Hall fan Robert Manganaro tweeted that he'd give himself a blue Gatorade shower if the New York City product chose the Pirates.

Whitehead indeed became Seton Hall's highest-profile commit in more than a decade, so Manganaro decided he had to live up to his word.

At 5 p.m. EST on Thursday, Manganaro closed his eyes, gritted his teeth and poured two 20-ounce bottles of blue Gatorade over his own head. A generous friend not visible on camera added to the deluge by dumping six additional bottles of blue Gatorade all over a wincing Manganaro.

Manganaro posted photos and videos on social media and appeared to have no regrets, noting that he "can't make an idiotic claim and then not follow through."

Whitehead's decision is certainly a moment worthy of celebration for a long-struggling Seton Hall program. Ranked 14th in Rivals.com's Class of 2014 ratings, Whitehead is a potential McDonald's All-American and the centerpiece of by far the best recruiting class of Kevin Williard's four-year tenure.

As big as Whitehead's commitment is for Seton Hall, however, I can't imagine what Manganaro might do if the Pirates ever win a Big East crown or a couple NCAA tournament games. Don a pirate costume and storm mid-court at the Prudential Center by himself? The bar is high now. Very high.
