Kansas freshman guard Andrew Wiggins and head coach Bill Self will meet the media at 3 p.m. ET Monday afternoon and Wiggins is expected to announce that he will leave Kansas and declare for the 2014 NBA Draft.

The news, which is being reported by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman and Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star, was expected since Wiggins – the No. 1 overall player in the Class of 2013 – announced his commitment to Kansas last March. The 6-foot-8 Canadian averaged 17.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in his only year in Lawrence.

Wiggins, the Big 12 freshman of the year and a member first team All-Big 12 selection, is projected to be a lottery selection in the draft and has been pegged by many to be the probably number one pick.

Kansas’ season ended in the round of 32 of the NCAA tournament after being upset by No. 10 seed Stanford last Sunday. Wiggins scored just four points on 1-of-6 shooting in the loss. After the loss, Wiggins didn't reveal whether he would stay or go, but on March 5, Wiggins revealed that it would be his last game at Allen Fieldhouse.

"I wish I had more time to stay here and do my thing and just be with the team and the coaches and all these wonderful fans. I'm sad it's my last time. But I've enjoyed my time here. I couldn't ask for more," Wiggins said

Fellow Kansas freshman Joel Embiid, another projected lottery pick, has yet to announce his intentions. Freshman Wayne Selden Jr. announced that he will return to the Jayhawks for his sophomore season.
