No respect: NCAA puts Georgetown, not George Washington, on official T-shirt

Talk about no respect. George Washington is back in the NCAAs for the first time since 2007, and the NCAA itself mistakes the Colonials for their nearby in-town rival Georgetown.

On a since-pulled logo shirt for sale on the NCAA website, you can see the gray "G" of Georgetown at lower right, instead of the navy "GW" of George Washington. Georgetown missed the NCAA field for the first time since 2009, and GW fans reportedly cheered the exclusion.

It's not the first time GW hasn't gotten the respect it feels it deserves, and it won't be the last. Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski criticized the Colonials' conference on Sunday: "[T]he Atlantic 10, they're a really good conference. I hear people saying there are six teams in there. Come on. I mean, they're good, but put them in our conference and go through the meat grinder that our conference has to go through."

The Colonials could get a shot at one of those meat-grindin' ACC teams as early as the round of 32, should they survive to face Virginia. GW is seeded ninth and opens against Memphis. Tip to the NCAA: that would be the University of Memphis, not Memphis State.
