Isaiah Thomas' prayer falls from 65 feet ... but is called off

The Dagger

Before Quincy Pondexter saved the day for the Huskies, Isaiah Thomas nearly gave UW three points it needed badly in the second half of Thursday night's first-round game against Marquette. Watch below, as Thomas unleashes a frantic 65-footer after a foul call that is so good it'll still make the nightly highlights across the country.

Oh! If only it had counted! Now the question is: Does that make "One Shining Moment"? It technically didn't go into the game log.

If you picked Washington to make the Sweet 16, you may have some buzzer-beating karma on your side. Huskies have a feel for the twine when the clock gets low.

It's safe to say it, proclaim it, swear by it: This has been the best opening day of tournament action we've ever seen. Seven non-BCS schools have already advanced to the next round and underdogs have covered on all but two games so far.
