Florida big man Patric Young looks intimidating enough at times on the basketball court. Now imagine him in cleats, shoulder pads and a helmet running full speed in your direction carrying a football on Saturdays, or maybe Sundays.
Young grew up in a football-loving family. His grandparents had season tickets in The Swamp for more than a decade. His father played tight end at Bethune-Cookman and also played professionally for two teams in the defunct USFL.
It's no surprise then that Young, despite being rough around the edges, looks like he has the athleticism for the sport as well in this video. He recently tried his hand at some of the basics on the gridiron with Florida junior quarterback Tyler Murphy and senior wide receiver Trey Burton.
Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan is probably relieved his 6-foot-9, 247-pound power forward made it through the session unscathed.
