Facebook Fun: Gators rule Florida while Michigan is truly a Wolverine state

As we head into the Sweet 16, there are three states who have two or more schools left in the field. Florida leads the pack with three (Miami, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast) while Michigan (UM/Michigan State) and Kansas (KU/Wichita State) each have two.

We asked our friends at Facebook to see a county-by-county breakdown of which way Michigan and Florida go in terms of the most Facebook "likes." As you can see, the Spartans have a nice little stronghold around East Lansing, but have a hard time fighting off the Wal-Mart Wolverine army almost everywhere else. Not even head coach Tom Izzo's hometown of Iron Mountain in the upper peninsula goes green.

Florida, meanwhile, also breaks down along geographic lines. FGCU is building a nice little home in a Fort Myers community that's eager for a powerhouse to call their own. Miami, meanwhile, backs the Hurricanes while the Gators have a chomp-strength grip on the rest of the state. Can FGCU win over any other districts with a win over the Gators on Friday night? We'll have to wait to find out.
