Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has won two national titles since the last time he watched his Blue Devils lose a nonconference home game.
The top-ranked Blue Devils extended one of the more impressive streaks in college basketball Thursday night to triple digits with a 76-54 win over Elon. Duke has won 100 consecutive home games against nonconference competition.
The last time Duke lost a home nonconference game was Feb. 26, 2000 when St. John's escaped with an 83-82 victory.
Under Krzyzewski, Duke has gone 244-11 at home in conference games. The Blue Devils put together a similar streak earlier in Coach K's tenure, winning 95 consecutive games from Feb. 2, 1983 to Dec. 2, 1995.
Duke extended the streak Thursday night behind another double-double from Player of the Year candidate Mason Plumlee, who scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Plumlee is averaging more than 19 points and 11 rebounds a game, and if he can sustain that production when the competition improves in ACC play, he would be the first Duke player to average a double-double for an entire season since Shelden Williams did so in 2005-06.
