With all due respect to Shannon Scott's relentless defense, Aaron Craft's fearless drives to the rim or Deshaun Thomas' game-changing pick-and-pop 3-pointer, the highlight of Ohio State's win huge win in Bloomington didn't take place the court.
It happened coming out of a a second-half timeout when ESPN cameras panned to a woman in the crowd holding up a funny homemade sign that read, "Dan Dakich dated my mom ... seriously."
At first it seemed like merely a clever ploy to get on TV. Then the ESPN analyst and ex-Hoosiers player and assistant coach confirmed it was true.
Dakich and Mike Tirico have great on-air chemistry and an excellent sense of humor, so it was no surprise the veteran play-by-play man playfully chastised his broadcast partner for embarrassing the woman as he began to launch into the story of how they met.
"You kidding me?" Dakich responded. "The daughter wears that as a badge of honor. Why shouldn't she?"
