Colorado might have lost Spencer Dinwiddie, its best player and unquestioned leader, on Sunday for an extended period of time raising big concerns about the rest of the season for a team that was climbing in the polls.

Dinwiddie fell to the court at Washington clutching his left knee in pain in the first half against the Huskies. Coach Tad Boyle and team athletic trainers tended to him before teammates Xavier Johnson and Xavier Talton carried him off the court.

Dinwiddie did not return and his absence gave a poor first impression of what the Buffs might look like without him. No. 15 Colorado was leading 29-26 when Dinwiddie was injured. It ended up losing the game 71-54 with Dinwiddie backcourt mate Askia Booker struggling through a poor shooting day.

Booker, who has been hot recently, went 0-for-9 and didn't score in the game. Hit streaky shooting has been something the Buffs have overcome in the past, in part, because of the steady play of Dinwiddie, who scored on drives to the basket and at the free throw line.

If Dinwiddie misses any length of time, Boyle will likely use sophomore Eli Stalzer and freshman Jaron Hopkins at point guard. Those two combined for nine points, two assists and two turnovers against the Huskies.
